The mischievous, frivolous operetta reigns in a luxurious mansion on Italian street for almost a hundred years. And the origins of the genre itself go far back into the depths of centuries - after all, even the most ancient theatrical performances were built on the combination of words, music and dance. Meanwhile, the operetta was considered to be a “small opera” for quite a long time, and only by the middle of the 19th century did it acquire unique distinctive features. Expressive music, love intrigue, spectacular crowd scenes and virtuoso cascading numbers along with comic and even parody content are what admirers loved and appreciated at the dawn of the operetta and what they continue to love in the fast-moving and high-tech XXI century.

In the concert dedicated to the opening of the Year of the Theater - 2019, the creative group of the Musical Comedy gathered bright numbers from the works of famous European composers to show the beauty of one of the oldest theatrical genres in the world. Johann Strauss and Karl Ziehrer, Richard Heuberger and Leo Fall, Franz Legar and Imre Kalman, Eno Husk and Nico Dostal, Jean Gilbert and Paul Linke - many operettas of these authors in different years went on the stage of the Theater of Musical Comedy. But there are those that have not yet been translated into Russian. Private rooms of which the theater in recent years includes in concert programs.

In the luxurious arias and duets performed by the stars of the theater - Svetlana Lugova, Katazhina Matskevich, Natalia Savchenko, Karina Chepurnova, Anna Bulgak, Oleg Korzh, Oleg Romashin, Fyodor Osipov and Alexey Shtykov will appear the lyrical line of the genre. Charm, the temptations and hints, passion and love torment - feelings which the operetta characters know like no one else!

But without a parody display of the line of the main characters, the comic couple operetta would not be so loved by the audience. After all, smiles and laughter - the best medicine for all adversity! Therefore, the concert will feature comic and cascade numbers, which are brilliantly performed today by the soloists of the troupe Alexander Krukovsky, Vladimir Yakovlev, Anastasia Loshakova, Roman Vokuev and Ivan Korytov.

Before the beginning of the concert, all the guests of the evening will be waited by an unusual theatrical interlude in the parade lobby.
